Danny came home from work early today. I didn't notice anything was wrong for a little while and then he looked at me with a really sad face and asked me where the ice was. When I actually looked at his face I noticed it was swollen on the left side and he looked like he was going to pass out. He sat down for a little while and put ice on his face.
He had been taking a snow mobile from his boss' home to the shop and hit a patch of ice. He lost control and he doesn't know exactly what happen, but he thinks the sled went over him and he hit his head either on the ice or on the snow machine. He was disoriented for a minute afterwards, but he got back on the bike and rode it the rest of the way. After he got to the shop he noticed that his face was swelling and he couldn't see anything on his left side. He was getting really dizzy and his co-worker told him to go home.
We finally decided that we needed to take him in to community care to make sure he was alright. The doctor thinks that he might have broken a small bone in his face that would prevent him from chewing and would make his left cheek sink in. We're going to see tomorrow if he needs an x-ray. The doctor said he wasn't really worried about a concussion, but if that bone is broken, he will need surgery to fix it.
